Well, we broke down in a moment of comsumerist weakness and bought a LED HD tv.

We bought it Sunday evening. Yesterday I called Verizon to get the HD converter box. They said it would take 3 - 10 days to get here..Probably more due to the holiday weekend.

It got here today!

I still question if we should have spent the money..but DAMN it sure looks good!

Scary moment at Church.

A bizzare thing happened at church on Sunday.

Firstly it was unseasonably warm and no one turned the A/C on in the sanctuary. I was hot beyond beleif under my choir robe.

Apparently it really got to our Associate Pastor. As we "recessed" up the aisle at the end of service she turned to the Senior Pastor and said "Can you do the bennediction? I'm not feeling great"..He said "OK".

She got to the back door to the sanctuary, took and took two steps into the Narthex. The head Users said "Are you OK Becky?" She said "No" and fainted and fell flat on her face on the floor!

So we had to splash water on her face to wake her up, we called an ambulance and the paramedics took her to see what was up. She's only 29 years old and he husband was freaking out!

So far she's feeling fine and the doctors haven't found any issues. I guess it was the heat but who knows.

It was just a scary thing to witness.

such as being pregnant?

That's what a few people thought.

I talked with her at a meeting on Tuesday night and she said that she was sleeping late Sunday afternoon after the "ordeal".

Her husband was on facebook and one of the ladies in the chusrch asked him if Becky was pregnant. He said "T don't think so. He ran upstairs woke her up and said "Beckyy, are you pregnant?" She recalled that she foggily responded "what?, ummm, no." and went back to sleep.

Monday morning she asks him "Did you wake me up and ask me if I was pregnant yesterday?"

lol

I went to the eye Doctor today for my annual check.

The good news: = No diabetic retinoipathy.

Bad News = When I was a kid I had to have dialation drops in my eyes every day, alternating eyes, to keep my brain from shutting off an eye until they fixed my strabismus...Thus my eyes are still hypersensative to dialation drops.

So my pupils are WIDE open and looking at the computer is giving me a huge headache.

SO....I'll check back tomorrow!

Gina and Chrissy left Saturday morning to go visit Alle, leabing Me home with David and Liam/

Luckily Liam was at work most of Saturday, went out with a friend until late in the evening, then left for work today right after Dave and i got home from church.

David was out handing out pamphlets for the "Scouting for Food" program with his troop.

I was a busy guy home all by my lonesome.

I put up a hook in the cieling to hang a plant over the kitchen table.

I worked on Gina's car (she took mine) and tried to fix a rattle in the exhaust. (No luck..needs a new muffler).

I also took the pumpkin we never carved and got it ready to transform into pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. I cut it in half, took out the seeds and baked each half for 2 hours. Let it cool for about 1/2 an hour then scoop it out and run it through a food processor. I packed it up in gallon bags and save a couple cups.

While I was waiting for the pumpkin to cook I watched som Food TV show "Man vs. Food". On the show they were in Brooklyn and visited a place that made Sicillian Pizza. So I decided to make Sicillian Pizza for dinner.

The pizza came out great!

After dinner, I baked two loafs of pumpkin bread as we signed up to bring a "baked good" to the mission breakfast we had at church.

The house smelled amazing! The combo of Pizza and spiced pumpkin bread! Too bad Gina wasn't home to enjoy it!

Last cruise entry.

On the last day of our cruise we visited Holland America Line's private island Half Moon Cay. We had hooked up with a group of folks from the cruise message board and together we had rented the "Grand Oasis Cabana" for our day there.

This place was amazing, there was a large table with all sprts of food laid out for us to snack on, a hot tub, a water slide, snorkeliing gear for everyone, floating mats, private bathrooms, a shower and cushioned lounge chairs some in the sun and some in the shade.

We had two stewards to get us whatever we wanted, when we wanted it, a private chef just for the 12 of us to cook our lunch and a private bartender with an open bar the entire time we were there! Several ship officers also came by and checked in on us throughout the day.

We had a blast! We played in the water, did all kinds of crazy stunts on the water slide, relaxed in the hot tub, ate, drank, went off and walked down the beach with sand the consistancy of talcum powder.

So here are some photos from Half Moon Cay.

The day was over WAY too quickly. We got to cut to the front of the line to get on the tender back to the ship due to being "Grand Oasis" guests! Once on board we went up to the aft pool to watch the sail away, then went and got ready for dinner.

After dinner we had to get all our luggage packed and into the hallway before midnight.

The next morning came all too soon. We got to see one more sunrise from our veranda.

We had a nice room service breakfast and watched a huge container ship almost hit the front of our ship as it exited the harbor.

And then it was time to get off the ship.

We had an amazing time and have already planned a repeat next year. October 30, 2010 from Ft. Lauderdale....Anyone in?

Our next day was on St. Thomas, USVI. We arrived at around 8:00 am. After breakfast we got off the ship, did some shopping in the stores by the pier. As I was waiting for Gina I noticed something sitting on a rock by the water in the pier area.

Gina was so enchanted with the Iguanas she had to have her picture taken with them!

We then went to meet up with "Godfrey" the operator of the tour we had scheduled. He was WAY late, but eventually we met up with him. We did some shopping in downtown Charlotte Amalie then met up again with Godfrey for our Island Tour and trip to the beach.

Here are some photos from the Island Tour.

This is our ship docked in Crown Bay from the hills overlooking Charlotte Amalie.

Gina and I at the Botanical Gardens.

This is Magens Bay, which is the beach we were on our way to.

and the next few were taken on the beach at Magens Bay. It is on the list of the World's Top 10 beaches. It was amazing!

You can tell it was the week of Halloween!

Godfrey picked up up at 3:15 to bring us back to the ship. Were were biting our nails at 4:15 as we were stuck in traffic and "All Aboard" time was 4:30! We made it on the ship by 4:20!

This evening was our 20th anniversary and we had dinner in the ship's Asian Fusion resaraunt. I had yummy sushi and shashimi for my appitizer! A couple who we met online on a cruise message board who know it was our anniversary had arranged for an Anniversary cake for us. The restaraunt manager and waitstaff brought the cake and sang "Happy Anniversary" to us in Indonisian!

We went to the sport bar after dinner and watched the World Series.

The next day was a Sea Day. We basically spent the day doing a bunch of nothing. Gina went to teh spa, I hung out by the pool, sat out on the veranda and read, ate, ate some more!

The evening was another formal night and was the "Lobster Night" as well. I couldn't be bothered with the frozen lobstar tail so I bucked the trend and had Veal Oso Bucco.

The next day was to be the last day of the cruise, but proved to be the most fun!

And more...

The next day we were in San Juan Puerto Rico. We decided to just explore Old San Juan by foot so once we had breakfast and the ship cleared customs we headed off to check things out.

We went through some of the shops in town as we made our way to the famous El Morro Fortress. This was totally amazing!

Itook a TON of photos...so here are a few.

The Cemetary between the fortress walls and the Ocean - This was built in the late 1800s

A view of the fort as seen from Old San Juan.

The entrance to the fortress

A view towards modern San Juan from the walls of the fortress

Gina in one of the guard posts

and a couple other photos from inside the fortress

After the tour of the fort we went off in search of the famous "Tripletta" sandwich served from street vendors in Old San Juan. The sandwich consists of Ham, steak and chicken with lettuce tomato mayo cheese and french fries.

We enjoyed the sandwich but it seems the local pigeons are well aware of how tasty the sandwich is and you can see how they anticipated a dropped morsel.

We headed back to the ship, hung out by the pool until it was time to get ready for dinner.

That evening we went to a show by the comedian Melvin George II. If you get a chance to catch him, check him out.

Our next day we visited Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands, which is just South East of the Bahamas.

We had a great time here!

As we were getting off the ship I was taking a photo of DAG and someone asked if we would like a picture of us together...So here we are with the ship behind us.

We first went for a walk on a shell hunting mission. We found an area of beach that had hundreds of conch shells and we picked up a few. While we were walking I found a nice present for Mori!

mmmmm Kelp!

When I turned around I was able to take a nice shot of the ship.

After our shell hunting we went and hung out at the beach for about an hour until it was time for our excursion.

Those who know me will be very suprized that I went on this excursion, and even enjoyed myself. Yes friends, despite the fish pee, fish poo, whale farts and the residue from fish "spawning" right there in the ocean...I went snorkeling!

It was amazing!!!

We saw all sorts of colorful fish, amazing coral reefs and even two stingrays and two barracuda! Most assuradly a Do-Over!

After our snorkel trip we had to get back on the ship and pull out of port on our way to Puerto Rico. We had a great dinner at the "Pinnacle Grill" steakhouse on the ship, did a few laps on the promenade then went to see a show.

They had a couple who perform Celtic based music this evening called "Live Wire". They were actually very good!

After the show we hit the hay again as we wanted to be up early to get going in San Juan before the day got too hot.

A synopsis of our cruise a couple weeks ago.

We flew to Ft. Lauderdale on a Friday and stayed at a nice hotel near the airport and cruise docks. It was teh Hyatt Place on 10th St.. We did a little shopping, hung out by the pool and went out to dinner. Went to bed early so we could get up and out early.

The next moring we got up, got our stuff together and went and ate breakfast. We went to get all our bags and get in line for the shuttle to the pier...And Gina broke a fingernail...So she went off for an emergency repair. She was back by 10:00 and we went, checked out and got in line for the shuttle. We got the first shuttle, dropped off our bags and went to the check-in hall. We were through check in and on the ship by 11:40.

Had a great lunch and then our room was ready. Did a quick tour of the ship, the lifeboat drill and then headed up to the aft pool for the sail away party. I took a TON of pictures with my camera. When I went to download them before we went to dinner I discovered that none of them "took" as my camera was obviously broken. I couldn't really see the screen in the sun and assumed I was taking photos...but weere all washed-out crapola!

So I only have a few pictures from our "Embarkation" day.

First few are of our cabin:

and the view off of our veranda

And lastly one I took of the ship's atrium sculpture.

We had a great dinner and walked around the Promenade of the ship after we had dessert. We were pretty tired so headed to bed a bit early the first night.

The next day was a "Sea Day". We basically hung out, met some new folks, swam in the pool, ate like pigs and RELAXED!

The evening was the first "Formal" night and just to prove that we can "clean up" pretty good:
